Tupuna / Enlace
SCULPTURE DESCRIPTION
Tupuna / Enlace (Ancestral Connection) is born from the depths of the Andean worldview, where everything is connected by invisible threads of reciprocity and sacred energy. The work represents the cyclical and permanent bond between natural and spiritual forces, evoking the principle of ayni—giving to receive—as a manifestation of cosmic balance.
Through the purity of the snow, not only the material is sculpted, but also the message: that human beings are not separate from the world, but are part of a living whole. The connection is revealed in the harmony between the individual and the community, between the earth and the spirit, between human beings and the elements.
In this proposal, the snow dialogues with the air, and form transforms into a ritual gesture. Tupuna is a symbol of unity, of that sacred communion that Andean cultures celebrate through offerings, dances, ceremonies, and encounters with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (Mountain Spirits). The work honors this ancestral vision, projecting it into the contemporary world as a call to restore balance between all planes of existence.
More than a sculpture, Tupuna is an act of living memory, an invocation to the sacred bond that sustains us.
