SCULPTURE DESCRIPTION
“For Fast-Acting Relief, Try Slowing Down”
by Jack Carter of Team: Warm Your Cold Brits
This snow sculpture reimagines the classic tale of The Tortoise and the Hare as a timely reminder for our modern world. Sculptor Jason Carter captures the essence of the fable—not just as a race, but as a reflection of how we live our lives today. The hare, frozen mid-sprint with eyes locked on a distant goal, symbolizes our frantic chase through a world consumed by speed, technology, business, and financial pressure. Opposite him, the tortoise moves slowly but deliberately, taking in his surroundings, connected to the moment.
In an age where we're constantly “on”—scrolling, checking, updating—we risk losing sight of the things that truly matter: nature, relationships, quiet moments, joy. This sculpture calls for a collective pause. A chance to reflect. To question whether the fast lane really leads to a better life—or just a more distracted one.
Team Warm Your Cold Brits invites you to slow down with us. Let the snow’s stillness guide you back to simplicity. Sometimes, the real victory lies not in how fast we move, but in how fully we live.
